Meet with Karalee Dawn MacKay to learn how an Arts Management minor can work for you!
Enhance your undergraduate experience and build on your passion for arts and culture while developing management skills!
Prepare to lead in the arts and hone your management skills to match your artistic goals.
Add a minor to complement your undergraduate experience. This minor will give you the basic management, writing and critical thinking skills needed to understand how arts organizations are managed:
Learn how creative projects are managed and get funded
Learn about the impact arts can have on a community
Gain practical skills through class projects and an experiential  internship
Read the Undergraduate Internship Guide.
Internships are a required, hands-on learning experience that let you put your passion to work by applying the concepts learned in the classroom, while gaining professional experience in managing arts venues.
Eligibility
The Minor in Arts Management is open to all George Mason University majors. In total, students must complete a minimum 18 credits of arts management and arts coursework to receive recognition of their minor upon graduation.
How to apply
Applying is easy and starts with contacting Dr. Karalee Dawn MacKay to set up an advising meeting. During the meeting you will create a course plan to show you what and when to take classes. You will then get approval to complete and submit your minor declaration form.
You must submit the Minor Declaration Form to the Registrar's Office to officially add the Arts Management Minor.
Note: Contact an advisor if you are considering the Accelerated MA in Arts Management, as the minor courses will NOT count towards graduate credit.
