The Kent Cultural Alliance (KCA) seeks an energetic and self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to the arts and artists to join our staff as a Project Coordinator (PC).  The PC will manage the day to day operations of the Chestertown Arts & Entertainment District and help launch the KCA’s new visiting artist residency program in 2022.  This individual will have strong organizational and event skills, and a desire to advocate for artists and arts & culture businesses and nonprofit organizations.  This is a full-time, salaried position with health insurance.  Hours are flexible but will require some evening and weekend work.  

Kent Cultural Alliance Project Coordinator, Duties:

  • Serve as the A&E District point person for questions about the district, incentives, available property grant opportunities, etc.
  • Maintain asset inventory: artists, studios, live/work space, etc
  • Liaise with local officials and Maryland State Arts Council as needed to accomplish goals of the district
  • Connect with peers in other A&E Districts across Maryland
  • Complete Grant applications and reports, and over see District budget.
  • Serve as KCA Residency point person for visiting artists and local initiatives
  • Coordinate application process for three annual six-week residency sessions for four artists per session.
  • Coordinate KCA’s new Raimond Center Exhibition space with KCA Director 
  • Coordinate Marketing for both A&E and Residency needs.
  • Report Directly to KCA Director
  • Other duties as assigned

This position includes 100% employer paid monthly health insurance premium for individual.  This is a public facing position and as such, this individual will represent the A&E District and KCA in all public interactions.  This individual must adhere to KCA’s policy of zero-tolerance for discrimination of any kind. Salary range is $37,000 – $42,000 based on experience.
