Paid Internships at the Phillips Collection!

Body

The Phillips Collection’s robust and competitive internship program provides critical support for the museum’s exhibitions and programming. Interns play a vital role in the museum’s work while gaining first-hand experience and mentorship in many aspects of arts and non-profit administration. In addition to working directly with staff in their departments, interns have the opportunity to connect with their peers and other museum staff during lunchtime sessions, staff meetings, and museum programs.

The paid internship program serves as a pipeline of future museum professionals from underrepresented populations and others who have experienced barriers to entry in the field. These unique opportunities make the pathway to museum employment more accessible to students as they pursue a career in the museum field. It is our aim to foster a professional community that reflects the breadth of our diverse society.

We value applicants from all backgrounds and perspectives who have great interest in the areas of:

  • Academic Affairs
  • Conservation
  • Curatorial
  • Development
  • Membership
  • Education and Community Engagement
  • Human Resources
  • Library and Archives
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Music
  • Registrar
  • Special Events

The Phillips seeks motivated people of all backgrounds—we value diversity of cultures, races and ethnicities, gender expressions, and abilities.

The Phillips Collection internship program is open to junior and senior undergraduates, graduate students and recent graduates. Applications are accepted for the summer, fall, and spring semesters. Interns receive complimentary guest admission to the museum (subject to availability), a 20% discount at the museum shop, a 10% discount in the café, and invitations to lectures and other special events.
