What You’ll Do  
As the Director you will lead the research and development initiatives that strategically develop Sitar’s creative youth development and workforce endeavors. Your primary responsibility will be to operate as the discerning leader in exploration, analysis, and advancement for the programs department.

You will work regularly with the Director of Program Operations and Director of Community Arts Education in the management of key programs such as the design and implementation of afterschool and summer programming. Your primary responsibility is the development and management of workforce development programs and initiatives. Under the direction of the Chief Programs Officer, you are also responsible for managing the Artistic Advancement Coordinator and indirectly managing long term and temporary interns.

Core Responsibilities Include:  

  • Lead Research and development initiatives that will strategically develop the future of Sitar’s programs.
  • Oversee, develop, and implement methods to accurately evaluate Sitar’s programs.
  • Develop workforce programs, activities and curriculum, and manage the cultivation of relationships with youth and young adults in preparation for arts careers.
  • Manage strategies to obtain new students, paid and volunteer teaching faculty and artistic partners

What You’ll Earn
Salary will be commensurate with experience with a range of $60,000 - $63,000.  
  
Where You’ll Work
This is an in-person position. Sitar actively follows CDC and other official COVID-19 recommendations to have staff work remotely when deemed the safest course of action for our community.

You and have a strong passion for the professional growth and development of youth and young adults and are well versed in the creative economy and workforce development. Importantly, you are a mobilizer who strives to motivate others to do great work.

Key Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years' experience direct service work with youth and young adults, specifically underrepresented youth
  • Experience developing and/or managing effective workforce and career development programs
  • Experience in relationship development with potential faculty members and partners
  • Ability to manage and provide equitable work environments for staff, faculty, interns and students
  • Experience in one or more art forms (Visual Arts, Theater, Music, Dance, Creative Writing, Digital Arts)

Preferred Qualifications and Experience 

  • Experience with databases, online financial software and spread sheets
  • Bilingual – Spanish and English speaking and writing ability

Requirements  

  • Background check, TB test, and COVID-19 vaccination
  • Ability to work in person, afternoons and evenings, and some Saturdays
