GALA Hispanic Theater Seeks Special Events Intern
GALA is gearing up for its 2022 benefit event on May 18 at St. Francis Hall. The event includes awards, live and silent auction, seated dinner, and performances. The intern will have the opportunity to engage in the process of planning a major fundraising event from procuring items for the auctions, organizing auctions, learning new software, database management, and volunteer engagement. Additional opportunities, depending on interns’ interests, can be arranged. This is a remote opportunity but will require some on-site presence to prep for the auction and on the day of the event.
What we are looking for:
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
• The ability to learn new software (patron/donor and auction software).
• Is able to meet deadlines.
• Careful attention to detail.
• Can-do attitude.
• Spanish speaker is a plus but not essential to perform tasks.
What can you expect:
• To gain real work experience and provide meaningful assistance to the organization.
• To have guidance, feedback, receptiveness, and models professionalism.
• To gain experience and skills in event management.
• To develop professional contacts.
• To gain exposure to leadership/management.
• Internship will start immediately upon engagement.
• Work average of 10hrs/week.
• Credit hours are available.
