GALA Hispanic Theatre Seeks Volunteers
GALA Hispanic Theatre is looking for volunteers for their biggest event of the year! “Noche de Estrellas” benefit event celebrates GALA’s artistic vision and commitment to youth education programs and honors the achievement of leaders in the arts, philanthropy, and community. These honorees understand how the arts can forever transform the life of a young person and they inspire GALA to pursue its mission and achieve its dreams. The celebration features a dinner reception, silent and live auctions, and performances, and this year GALA is presenting the newly established Abel López Latinos in the Arts Leadership Award and Abel López will receive the inaugural award. The event will be attended by arts and business leaders, members of the press, government officials, and international diplomats.
GALA is in need of various volunteer positions:
-Greeters
-Live and silent auction helpers
-Check-in/check-out
-Decoration set-up
-Event breakdown
-Coat checkers
-Auction software helpers
-And more

The perks: This is a great volunteer opportunity where you will learn about event fundraising and the different aspects of setting up a large event. You will have tons of fun, work hard, be able to meet new people, while helping raise funds for our youth programs, plus you will have a delicious dinner and get a ticket to a GALA show.
The event is Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 pm at St. Francis Hall (1340 Quincy St NE, Washington, DC). We would need volunteers to start their shifts one hour prior to the event start (we can be flexible depending on your schedule). Patrons leave at about 10 pm and you would help with the breakdown. There will be a required pre-event training, which will take place a day or two before the event.
