POSITION: Development Assistant

Full-Time or Part-Time: 24-40 hours per week

Work location: 2667 Prosperity Ave, Fairfax, Virginia 22031 (near Dunn Loring Metro)

Position Reports to: Director of Development

Salary: $32k-$45k salary range based on experience and whether full-time or part-time

Other Compensation: 100% major medical health benefits for full-time employees, with the option to add family coverage at employee expense. Employees receive paid vacation, sick, holidays, jury duty, bereavement, and personal days per HR Policies Manual. We offer a retirement program for non-matched employee contribution.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Development Assistant supports all fundraising activities, including: managing the DonorPerfect database, including entering data, running reports, preparing mailing lists, etc.; tracking sponsorships and assisting with logistics for the annual ArtsFairfax Awards event; researching corporate, foundation, and individual prospects; tracking proposal and reporting deadlines; coordinating direct mail campaigns; processing gifts and donor acknowledgement letters; assisting with Development Committee and Board Meetings; and completing general administrative tasks as necessary.

Required Skills: Candidate must have one or two years of administrative experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and computer skills (Word and Excel required; database experience preferred).

ArtsFairfax is a nonprofit local arts agency that supports arts organizations and individual artists in Fairfax County through grants, professional development, promotional services, recognition, etc. We also serve County residents through efforts to increase awareness of and access to arts and cultural activities and events. ArtsFairfax has a staff of 8 FTE and an annual operating budget of $1.9M.
