Biography
Christian is an adjunct professor. He focuses on developing meaningful interactions with his students and helping them become more comfortable with finance and accounting. He has over 20 years of auditing, accounting, and financial experience concentrated in the nonprofit industry. Presently, Christian is the Controller of National Public Radio, Inc. (NPR) where he oversees NPR’s accounting, financial reporting, and tax functions, and supports the financial operations of the company. Prior to joining NPR, Christian was the Controller of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; the Chief Financial Officer of Common Cause; a financial and accounting outsourcing consultant with Beers & Cutler (now Baker Tilly), Outsource Partners International (now EXL), and KPMG (KPMG’s Business Process Outsourcing practice became Outsource Partners International). While at KPMG, Christian also worked in the Assurance practice where he audited mostly nonprofit clients, such as the Smithsonian Institution and National Geographic Society. Christian earned a BS in Accounting from George Mason University.
