Heifetz International Music Institute seeks interns and summer employees!

The Heifetz international music institute is a six-week summer music program for highly advanced string players. Our Festival of Concerts and daily Institute operations require a team of highly motivated and dynamic individuals to make sure our concerts, classes, private lessons, and more run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

Heifetz is hiring for multiple positions and internships. All positions are paid and include free single-room housing, meals, and access to all Institute events.

Employment Opportunities:

Administrative Assistant & Outreach Coordinator

The Heifetz Institute Administrative Assistant & Outreach Coordinator will work directly with both our President & CEO and our Artistic Director. Ideal candidates will have a background in music, be highly organized and interested in developing their skills in arts administration.

Assistant Stage Manager

Working in conjunction with the Stage Manager, Front of House team, and other key staff members, the Assistant Stage Manager’s primary responsibility is to aid the Stage Manager in ensuring that the Institute’s many concerts have the stagehands, equipment, stage plan, and action plans necessary for successful, effective concert experiences.

Front of House Manager

The Front of House Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee the day-to-day operations and logistics related to the Institute’s Festival of Concert’s events, including answering patron's questions, keeping track of ticket sales and check-ins, selling tickets at the door, preparing the programs for each concert, and assist with the management of special events.

Front of House Assistant

Working in conjunction with the Front of House Manager, Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, and other members of the concert operations team, the Front of House Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to the Front of House Manager.

Resident Assistant

Heifetz Institute RAs are individuals who exhibit strong leadership capabilities, communication skills, and conflict management techniques. The RA helps to facilitate a positive living and learning environment during the six-week program. A Heifetz Institute RA displays sensitivity to and interest in people, neutrality, respect for dignity and worth of the individual, open-mindedness on issues, has a great degree of empathy, and is able to handle autonomy, make decisions, and identify and resolve issues quickly and decisively.

Scheduling Coordinator

The Scheduling Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the Institute’s busy, multilayered schedule is created, updated, and distributed in a manner that demonstrates thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and respect for the time of the Institute Community.

Student Life Coordinator

The Student Life Coordinator is an individual who exhibits strong leadership capabilities, communication skills, and conflict management techniques. This position will oversee the Student Life Team and act as supervisor to all RAs, in addition to living on-campus and acting as the point of contact for students over the age of 21. The Student Life Coordinator will take charge of planning and implementing cultural, educational, and recreational activities for the Institute’s student body, with particular focus on students in the Junior Division.

Studio Assistant

Working in conjunction with the Administrative & Development Associate, the Director of Programming & Operations, and other members of the administrative team, the Studio Assistant’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the Institute’s faculty and students are connected with the correct resources to meet their needs during their time at the Institute.

Internship Opportunities:

Festival Intern

This is an immersive, all-in, all-hands-on deck experience working at the Institute and includes involvement in nearly every aspect of our operations during the six-week summer program. Staff internships present an excellent opportunity for students with musical backgrounds interested in arts management to broaden their experience.

Marketing Intern

Working in conjunction with the Marketing & Development Manager, the Marketing Intern’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the Institute’s many activities are accurately represented across our social media platforms, website, eNewsletters, as well as to assist with our concert live streams.

Multimedia Intern

As a Multimedia Intern, successful candidates shall work under the supervision of the Director for Multimedia, assisting, at the Director’s discretion, in the recording, editing, and production of high-quality audio content of the Heifetz International Music Institute and its Festival of Concerts. Interns may also be tasked with other multimedia responsibilities, including video and still photography, set-up and strike of multimedia equipment, setting up, determining microphone placement, and live sound mixing of both outdoor and indoor events, as well as other duties as assigned.
